Participation through the IFSJ Secretary General in his capacity as former Secretary of the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission

The International Federation for Sustainability and Justice (IFSJ) was present at the constitutive session of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (WECO) for the 2026–2031 term, held at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection in Vienna.

The Secretary General participated in the session following an official invitation issued in recognition of his previous role within the Codex Alimentarius Commission (FAO/WHO). The session brought together national authorities and expert stakeholders in the areas of food standards, consumer protection, and regulatory coordination.

During the session, a technical contribution was delivered addressing international food standard-setting, Codex-related cooperation, and multilateral coordination in the field of global food systems. Reference was made to the work of IFSJ in relation to international food systems and institutional engagement.
